About ME
I went to Hope College for my undergraduate program. I graduated in 2011 with a degree in special education, and an emphasis in learning disabilities. After graduation, I started working at Coopersville Area Public schools, in Coopersville Michigan. I have worked at both the middle school and high school. Currently I am at the high school as a special education teacher. This year I am teaching Algebra 1 & 2, Personal Finance, Spanish, Biology and Seminar (a homework help period). I am the ACT Test Accommodations Coordinator at Coopersville High School. This means I am in charge of coordinating the ACT tests for our special education students, making sure they receive the necessary accommodations and scheduling the test dates for our students and proctors.
I plan to graduate from Michigan State University this winter with my Master's degree in Educational Technology. I have learned so much from my program at MSU, and I have loved including it into my classroom. It has always been a goal of mine, as a teacher, to include more technology into my classroom. The courses I have taken at MSU have allowed me to do this.
When I am not teaching or taking classes I enjoy being outside and spending time with my family and friends. I love going the beach, biking, reading, and playing sports. I am the JV softball coach, and I love spending time getting to know my players outside of the classroom. I also work as a student council advisor and assist our students in leading the student body and planning events. I strive to create personal and meaningful relationships with all of my students.
